The Drafting Committee on Uniform Entity Transactions Act will meet Friday, November 15, through Sunday, November 17, 2002, at the Marriott Schaumburg in Schaumburg, IL. Meeting hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, and Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. until noon on Sunday. The Study Committee on Uniform Management of Institutional Funds Act and the Legislative Committee will also meet this weekend. Your meeting room will be posted on-site.

Due to budget constraints and limited hotel space as a result of competing events in Chicago, this meeting will be in Schaumburg (West of O'Hare Airport) instead of in the city. The hotel provides a shuttle, running every hour & a half to Woodfield Mall, a major shopping mall with Nordstrom's, Marshall Fields, etc. and numerous restaurants. Those who are interested in going into the city need to keep transportation costs down or personally absorb the costs so as not to defeat the purpose of meeting near O'Hare. Attached is listing of many good restaurants in and around the hotel.

Sunday coffee service will no longer be available. Most committees are adjourning early and the Conference is saving costs by not arranging for service. Moreover, the hotel will have inexpensive coffee available that you can buy.

To reserve a sleeping room, please complete the enclosed hotel reservation form and return it to the hotel. The cut-off date for receipt of reservation requests is Thursday, October 24, 2002. You will need to guarantee your reservation with a credit card. Also, if making hotel reservations by phone, please identify yourself as a member of NCCUSL to obtain the special room rate.

It is important that our office receive a copy of all drafts and other materials to be discussed at the meeting at least three weeks in advance to allow us time to duplicate and mail the information to each member of the committee for review in advance of the meeting.

For those individuals who are reimbursed by the Conference, please remember that we are able to reimburse only at discounted, less-than-coach airfare rates.

United Airlines is offering NCCUSL participants (Committee Members, Advisors, and Observers) discounted flight fares to meetings. United offers a 5% discount off the lowest applicable discount fare including First Class) or a 10% discount off mid-week coach fares purchased 7 days in advance. An additional 5% discount will apply when tickets are purchased at least 60 days in advance of your travel date. Taxi service is available to and from the hotel at a fare of $30 one-way from O'Hare Airport.
