UNIFORM PARENTAGE ACT
(Last Revised or Amended 2002)

PURPOSE:
This act, which revises the Uniform Parentage Act of 1973, modernizes the law for determining the parents of children, and facilitates modern methods of testing for parentage. With the rising incidence of children born to unmarried parents, parentage determinations must be improved for the enforcement of child support.

ORIGIN:
Completed by the Uniform Law Commissioners in 2000 (and amended in 2002).
